What makes you unique from other event planners?

I come from a strong venue management background which gives me some advantages when thinking through set-up and tear-down logistics. Many of us can make things look pretty, but having an understanding of what it takes behind the scenes helps me plan out any crazy or unique event ideas for successful day-of execution. And luckily, coming from ARIA specifically, I learned a good amount about rigging and hanging installations - including what it takes to lower a bride from the ceiling; see photo of me testing out the 'hoop' first before we practiced with the bride

Tell us about your most memorable and fun wedding/event.

Well, I think that time we dropped a bride in from the catwalk was it! The planner on that one was Joan with Ambiente (shout out to her!) while I was at ARIA. The couple was very creatively minded and had an eye for uniquely beautiful things so the entire day was totally different and absolutely beautiful. We worked hard on planning her entrance, but also the floor plan was unique and we considered the flow and energy in the room. It was one of my most favorite planning experiences - we are all still friends after such a memorable event.

Most important piece of advice you would give to people looking to put together their own event/wedding?

Goals & Values. Many people and companies create events and experiences from weddings to product launches and sometimes I think people forget to consider - "Why are we doing this, and what value are we looking to bring with this experience." Whether it's a wedding or a company event; make sure you get clear about your intention. Events can be expensive - and you want to have a solid reason as to why you are doing this and what you or your guests will get from it. Speaking of expenses, there are hundreds of ways you could spend money to throw a party so having a clear goal and understanding what you value will help you 'pick a lane' and create a clear vision. I heard a father of the bride say once, "You can have anything but you can't have everything" and that has rung in my ear ever since.

Tell us one thing we might not otherwise know about you.

Some will know this, but I study astrology. I hope to be an astrologer at some point, but it will take a few years! I can offer couples compatibility charts for those that are interested.
