DJ Velvet’s Wedding Recap – Wedding of the Century?
St. Paul “Wedding of the Century”
This weekend was special as we married off one of our very own by being a part of a celebration that, in the days following, has simply been referred to as “The Wedding of the Century”, by our team members. It was all hands on deck for GenNOW at the Kulka wedding as our Wedding Specialist Ryan Kulka, a.k.a. DJ Velvet, tied the knot and threw possibly the most fun reception EVER!
DJ Dudley D was the man behind the tables, The Quammunist held down the emcee duties, DJ Eklipse manned the lighting production, DJ Trillz and Mad Mardigan represented groomsman style and DJ Matty Matt closed it down at the after party. It was truly a team effort on Saturday night, and it could not have gone better!
There were also some killer vendors that had their hands in the pot, so to speak, to make this night a huge success so we would like to recognize them now:
The Bliss Life – Kari Warwick – Wedding Planning, Day of Coordination, Floral
Flow Event Group – Rick Gmitro – Photography, Videography
MetroConnections – Casino Tables, Event Décor, Transportation, Logistics
University of St. Thomas – Molly Boyne – Reception Venue, Catering, Bar
Steppingstone Theatre – Ceremony Venue
EMI Audio – Event sound technician, mood lighting (ceiling and walls)
When we say that this kid has experienced all the Do’s and Do Not’s that one could witness at a wedding, we are NOT lying. Ryan took his experience and applied it to his big day by basically weeding out all of things that simply are boring or don’t work/matter at a wedding reception and highlighting the things that blow minds. We don’t want to bore you with a ton to read right here so if you want to see more pictures of the event simply search #KulkaWedding on your favorite social channel and you will get a taste of what went down! In fact, here is what Mad Mardigan had to say about the event as he recapped some of the highlights on Facebook:
“The wedding of the century took place yesterday. Here’s what it takes to accomplish this monumental task:
*Ceremony opening video montage of the wedding party by Rick Gmitro
*Kat Perkins performing an original song to kick off the ceremony
*Tear-inducing Opera-style singing of ‘The Lords Prayer’ by an elder gentlemen
*Tim Miller’s lens-less Prof-like glasses
*Food stations galore with the most incredible eats you can imagine and no required sit down dinner time
*Poker/Blackjack tables intermixed with the dinner tables
*Street magic by Adam Perry
*The Root City Band playing that funky funk live during dinner
*8000 watt sound system by GenNOW + super dope light show by Charlie Tornquist
*Bars located by the dancefloor
*The best DJ/MC combo in the business (Dustin Meyer & Ben Quam)
*300+ beautiful people getting down to the sounds
*Robert Elder’s cologne/cashmere tux
*Dancing with my mom Linda & baby’s momma Amanda
*80-person shuttle bus to transport us to Tiffs for the after-party where D.j. Matty Matt is playin the jams
*Seeing all of your closest friends having the time of their lives”
Finally, a huge congrats is in order for the NEW Ryan and Ashley Kulka!!!!! We love you guys!
