Spreading Good Vibes: Our Monthly DJ Showcase @ MN Fairview Children’s Hospital + TB1F

Music has the power to heal, uplift spirits, and bring people together like nothing else can. At our GenNOW, we firmly believe in the transformative nature of music and the importance of giving back to the community. That's why, since April 2023, we've been dedicating one day each month to bring joy via music to the MN Children’s Hospital community. Our DJs, DJ Mad Mardigan and DJ Dudley D, have been lighting up the faces of patients and families, showcasing the basics of DJing, and hosting memorable dance parties right at the heart of the hospital.

The Healing Power of Music

Music has always played a significant role in our lives, and it's no secret that it can have a profound impact on our emotions and well-being. Studies have shown that music can reduce stress, anxiety, and even alleviate pain. It's a language that transcends barriers, speaking to our souls and bringing comfort during challenging times. Plus, let’s be real. These kids and parents just need time for fun! The best part of this partnership with MN Children’s Hospital and TB1F is seeing the families smile and enjoy the moment.

Educating and Entertaining - Music Mondays!

Each month on Monday, DJ Mad Mardigan and DJ Dudley D set up their turntables in the hospital's communal area. Patients and their families are invited to join in the fun and learn the basics of DJing, discovering the artistry behind creating seamless mixes and mashups. From understanding beatmatching to exploring different music genres, our DJs engage the kids with interactive sessions. The sessions are streamed on the hospitals internal TV Channel, so all the kids can enjoy. We’ve also been able to bring the cameras outside of the hospital and to the stadiums. Music Director and main man behind the scenes at GenNOW, Tim Miller, created a special video showcasing the behind the scenes of the music at Target Field for Twins games.
